Faa' a International Airport is about 8 hours nonstop from Los Angeles' LAX airport and just over 12 hours nonstop from New York's JFK airport. As far south of the
equator as Hawaii is north, Tahiti is halfway between
California and Australia, in
the same time zone as Hawaii, and on the same side of the International Date Line as North America.
